Frustrating updates

Ive been playing this game since it first came out, and quickly became addicted to it (quick life regeneration and goals that are actually achievable!)...however, there have been recent updates to the game that have me thinking about removing it from my iPhone 5s! The game--while playing a board or even on the main screen--freezes up a lot, and it takes me either leaving the game for a while or rebooting my phone in order to continue playing. The ads are also becoming more frequent and annoying. (Almost as bad as Mystery Society or Blackstone)
I really hope the freezing issue is resolved because I dont want to have to give up on the game!
